February 2005
In response to your requests, we have good things coming your way in 2005.
We are very excited to announce that Classic Graphics has increased its
operation in the Triangle area with a new plant location, new 40
press and enhanced finishing equipment. Our new space is 24,000 square
feet and is located at 627 Distribution Drive in Durham. The new 6 Color
Komori LS40 is the most advanced sheetfed printing press in the world.
In our Charlotte facility, we are installing an identical 6 color press
in February and a new 8 color perfecting press in March. When these installations
are complete we will have 50% additional capacity in the pressroom. It
will allow our customers more flexibility in scheduling and our press-proofs
should be shorter and more predictable than ever.
With auxiliary equipment included, this is a $7,000,000 investment to
upgrade and expand our capabilities in our conventional pressroom. But
thats not enough
In August of 2004, Classic Graphics installed its first digital press.
The Digimaster®9110 Network Imaging System is a solid answer to black
and white digital imaging. Applications include variable data high-speed
digital printing. We are currently planning to add a second high speed
black and white device by March.
We are just about to order our first digital color press. This is in response
to customer requests. As you are aware, digital color has made significant
gains in quality over the past five years and we think now is the time
to add this capability to our repertoire. While the exact model that we
will purchase is still up in the air, we will be able to offer offset
quality color digital printing of full variable data color on each sheet
out of the press. For customers who collect great data on their customers
preferences, the level of personalization is unlimited.
Our investment in Digital Printing will total over $1,000,000 after the
addition of digital color and the expansion of our black and white capabilities.
Once your projects are printed, we can help you get it to your customers.
Opus Direct is growing and provides mailing, distribution and sophisticated
data management services to a diverse market. It is now located adjacent
to our Charlotte plant in 37,500 square feet of space that is easily expandable.
Over the past year we have added a mailing specialist, enhanced data capabilities
and upgraded software management systems. Send us a few hundred skids.
Were ready.
At Classic Graphics, we differentiate ourselves by being willing to customize
workflows to meet the unique needs of our clients, rather than our clients
having to fit their work into our system. Our greatest strengths are responsiveness,
flexibility and understanding of technology.
We sincerely appreciate your business and look forward to working with
you in 2005.
